Yeah. I find that these days I mostly post in really short-form places, even if I have something longer to say--the kind of thing that would've been a proper blog post back in the day, and is now an awkward thread--just because there's that dopamine hit of faster response, you know? The likes on the individual little posts, the short responses here and there. It's so much faster, that it's hard to give up, even though from a distance I prefer longer stuff like I can get here.
There's a lot more nuance here. But it's like watching TV series with interesting plots, vs. watching someone play a video game while chatting casually: sometimes I just don't have the /brain/ for the better and more complex thing. Or the energy. So the short-fast-immediate-simple gets my time, again and again.
