I'm having a pretty good day. I whine often enough that I feel like I ought to put that out there occasionally. Sure, it's abominably hot outside, and there's a giant stack of bills requiring tricky decisions regarding COBRA use that needs to be dealt with, and I just cleaned cat barf off my desk again... But still. Pretty good day.
Greek continues to be fun. And...fast. Really fast. Yesterday was alphabet, accent rules, and 2nd declension. Today is all six standard variations on 1st declension. (Specifically, the alpha and eta subgroups for masculine, feminine, and short-vowel feminine.) This led to surprisingly useful axioms such as "the masculine first declension starts out all insecure" and "genitives and datives LOVE the circumflex."
So, now I just need to sit down and make sure I can identify all six subgroups on any given noun based on its first two forms, accurately run through all their declensions (at least the plural is the same all around), and memorize two chapters of vocab (with special attention to which group each falls into). While making sure I don't forget the second declension or the previous chapter's vocab while I'm at it.
Simple!
