Academia: I am eternally overwhelmed. I'm keeping up on homework, but I haven't made much progress beyond "Hey, here's a topic!" on either of my big papers. There's another midterm coming up Tuesday that I should be studying for, and weekend after this is taken up entirely by interesting things that will leave no time for homework... Eep. Well. I soldier on. If I can't keep up with this, I'll never be able to cope with grad school. So. Onward!

Pets: The more comfortable Peejee gets with the dog, the more near-tiffs we get, as Pixel takes the more casual approach a sign that her overtures of friendship are finally paying off. The new cat tree is a big hit, once I convinced Pixel that she wasn't allowed to try to climb it to meet up with the Adorable Cat Who Should Be Her Friend. And today when I took a nap, Peejee crawled under the covers with me, and then ended up confusing Pixel dreadfully: she was just trying to curl up next to me on the bed, but the covers kept hissing at her...

Food: It turns out that a cheese called Pesto Jack is quite delicious. I also like the ginger variant of Angry Orchard's cider, though I usually find their cider too dry for my taste. Turns out that some of my beer went off after being stored too long in the back of the cupboard, so I am on a beer-purchasing moratorium until I get a chance to sort through the backlog and get rid of anything too old to be tasty.

Writing: I wrote 500 words today! Yay! That's...the most I've written in weeks. Sigh. No space for writing when my brain is full of languages.

Other Languages: God. Don't ask.

Climbing: I'm starting to send all my V0s successfully again, though I'm still really flailing at V1s. So I'm not back to my previous peak, but at least I'm getting closer. Meanwhile, I've managed to flail my way up the very very occasional 5.10 on the roped climbing, and I'm climbing standard 5.9s--and some 5.9+ routes--pretty regularly. So that's encouraging.

There. Lo, we are updated. Time for me to walk this dog, get some sleep, and prepare to discuss the origins of Latin literature in class tomorrow.
