I have acquired a new kitten.

Meet Zabina, AKA Zee. She's four months old, and age chosen to minimize the Tiny Frolicking Demon Of Destruction phase, while also getting her young enough that she can adapt to the household.) So far she cries if I leave her alone for twenty seconds, but will happily poke around a room or sleep on my lap so long as I'm nearby. This is going to make the pet separation plans...tricky, tonight, as Pixel and Peejee already expect to sleep near me at night.
So far of the two other cats, George hasn't noticed that the new kitten exists (and might not for days), while Peejee is giving me constant betrayed looks for the addition to the household. Her food dish has been moved! There was SOMEONE ON MY LAP! I am some sort of cruel, heartless monster who has replaced her with a tinier, more adorable version.
...this is not an entirely unfair assumption, as Zee looks a lot like a miniature version of Peejee, but it's not a replacement! Just. You know. Another kitten.
Pixel is desperately interested in the New Friend, and keeps trying to make friends with Zee. Which so far has gotten her a lot of hissing for her trouble, but Pixel is a good and polite dog, and doesn't press. Just...sits nearby, whining hopefully, then tries again in a bit. Since the kitten is just hissing, not bolting or swatting, I think they'll get along eventually. It'll just take some time.
But by god, tonight is going to be tricky. I hope someone in the house gets some sleep.
