Today's Greek comp sentences, in the order presented, divided into three acts of a play:

* They forgot the message.
* He promised not to touch the money.
* I hope to begin the work myself on the fourth day.
* They said they would not themselves share in the work.
* Give me a share of the money.
* We envy you your leisure.

* They desisted from battle.
* I admired him for his bravery.
* We will now go to the help of the allies.
* It is expedient for you to obey the king.
* I know that the Athenians have many ships.
* It is possible for us to attack the enemy, but it is wiser to wait.
* Are you willing to obey those who took our city by force?
* We will attack the enemy who are following us.

* Whom did you meet there?
* I concealed the gold from them.
* I believe that this river is fifty feet broad.
* He is no respect better than his father.
* Why did you not ask the rulers for money?

(It would make a tidier story if the last two sentences were reversed. And yet.)
