1) Rescued two puppies. By which I mean I found two adorable little white dogs (puppies? miniature poodles shaved for the summer? not sure!) frolicking on the neighbor's unfenced front lawn, sans collars, with their front door cracked open. I herded friendly, happy puppies back towards the house, knocked, and discovered that indeed the door wasn't supposed to be open and the dogs weren't supposed to be out.

2) Met my next door neighbor. (See above.)

3) Bought a breadbox. I expect that the spouse and I will spend weeks comparing things to it in size. Peculiarly enough, I discover that a proper breadbox--or at least the only one that Sears had in stock--is much larger than I had previously thought. I'd always pictured something a bit larger than a single loaf of bread.

4) Bought a tiny keychain black light and more scent remover. Apparently the former is solar-powered, which cracks me up. I'm supposed to set this itty bitty keychain out in sunlight (or under a lamp) for hours between uses. That said, it's supposed to get a full hour of shining off one full charge, and I don't see myself holding down that button for an hour straight any time soon.

5) Attempted to apply the above items. With...mixed success. (Why does the living room smell like cat pee when no other room of the house does? Why does the living room smell like cat pee when I can't find any puddles at all, have removed the rug, and mopped recently, after moving furniture and checking beneath them too? It is a mystery!) I guess if I keep applying scent remover across the whole of the room for long enough, I'll eventually hit the scent just by process of elimination.

As it were.
