So, I'm in Oregon this week. Which means that instead of posting interesting (presumably interesting, anyway) write-ups of my trip to climb on real rocks, or a discussion of the placement test I took in ancient Greek, or even discussing the very nice trip to Edgefield here with all of its wine samplers and herb gardens and peculiar art, I'm sort of lying around on a friend's couch going "..." and playing a free Mahjong game.
But I did walk to a park today! It's all of a block away, so not much of a walk, but it was a very nice park. Big community garden section, lots of sloping grassy lawns with regularly placed enormous trees, and then there's the whole river running alongside it. It's not a giant river, but it's big enough to have a concrete pedestrian/bike bridge with multiple posts along the center to hold it up, and people kayaking about merrily. Also, ducks. I'm a fan of ducks.
I took a lot of pictures, but TwitPic didn't let me upload any to twitter, and I haven't figured out how to access my flickr account on the new laptop yet. And they're not very good pictures, anyway. So you'll just have to take my word for it that it's a great park.
So far, Oregon is very nice. Awfully white, and it could use more cloud cover. But very nice indeed.
(Also, there was lavender jelly, which I love, but that wasn't at the park. So never mind that, or the delicious pancakes it appeared on.)
