Because I am realizing that it doesn't actually go without saying:

I support Edward Snowden's actions to expose what the US government has been doing. This whole "Yay, spying on everyone!" thing has gone a damn sight too far, and I do not like the idea that my government treats me as a hostile nation in terms of information collecting processes.

I don't know if the man is a Nice Person or not. I certainly don't know if his politics generally align with mine. (God knows my politics were inane ten years ago; I can't hold others more responsible for that sort of thing than I do myself.) But it's beside the point. I support what he did as a whistleblower regardless. (Hell, I support many of Assange's political actions, despite viewing that man as a nasty piece of work in many of his personal actions and stated beliefs.) He did a good thing. I'm glad he did it.

So. Y'know. Just thought I'd lay that out there.
