So. Um. I'm going to 4th Street Fantasy. (Because, hey, if the spouse is going to go run OgreCon, I figure it's not unreasonable for me to attend at least one more traveling con this summer! ...I'm sure this makes sense somehow.) I don't suppose anyone else who's going is still looking for a roommate?

It's not going to break the bank if I have a hotel room all to myself, but I prefer sharing for various reasons, some of them the purely financial. Big room! Can hold more than one person! It feels vaguely indulgent to flop around in a giant hotel room all by myself.

Nope, what it means is that if the programming people realize that you has A Expertise, you will get pulled out of the audience to be on a panel. Everybody at the con is on the same footing, except that Jo Walton and Jon Singer and the *NHs and Elise are way awesomer than lots of people. But this is not a surprise to people who have been paying attention, and anyway they're all far too polite to mention it. (I don't actually think that Jon and Jo have noticed.)
