The lack of classes is getting to me a little.

Oh, I can certainly do intellectually stimulating things. I've started on a new novel project, I'm doing translation myself (see below), and trying to cook reasonably tasty meals that don't exceed my attention span turns out to be challenging in its own way.

But I don't have a schedule, exactly. Just...things slotted into weekly evening patterns. And I don't see a whole lot of varied people. I walk to the grocery store about twice a day just to get out of the house a bit, and while I love the cats, they don't fill the monkey brain need for socialization face-to-face with other monkeys, no matter what pets expansions for The Sims have taught me.

I kinda need to get out more.

Meanwhile, have some more Caesar! (Still don't know what the heck was going on with ius in 1.4.3, though. Nominative? Really? I can't have two non-appositive nominative nouns in a clause with only one verb.)

1.4.1 This conspiracy was revealed to the Helvetii through the evidence. According to their customs, they gathered to bring Orgetorix to trial in chains; (if he was) condemned, it was necessary to follow the penalty, that he be burned by fire.

1.4.2 On the appointed day for the trial, Orgetorix gathered around him for the trial all his clansmen--nearly ten thousand men--and his retainers and his indentured servants, of which he had a great number, and assembled them in the same place; by their means he saved himself so that he would not have to defend himself (in the trial).

1.4.3 When the state hastened in the attempt to pursue him justly with weapons on account of this deed, and the magistrates gathered a multitude of men from the farmers, Orgetorix died;

1.4.4 and there was no lack of suspicion, as the Helvetii agree, but that he actually killed himself.
