Wikipedia is friend to all writers. No, I'm not using it as the definitive answer for anything, but if I can identify a topic by a sufficiently close name that there's an article on it, it'll start showing me what questions I should be asking.

Which is one way of saying "I spent all this morning doing research instead of writing, but I feel good about it."

(Also, cleaning up cat barf, and tiny cat-derived bloodstains. Unhealthy kitty continues to act pretty chipper while getting spots on things. Guess we'll see what the kitty oncologist says next Tuesday.)

1.5.1 Nevertheless, after his death the Helvetii tried to do the thing they'd resolved to do: namely, to overrun their borders.

1.5.2 Now when they had judged themselves to be ready for this plan, then all of their towns (about two hundred in number) and villages (about four hundred) and isolated private houses--they burned them all down.

1.5.3 And they burned up all of their grain, except what they meant to carry with them, so that, since hope of returning home was destroyed, they would be more prepared to take on all dangers. They ordered each many to carry for himself from home a three-month supply of ground meal. They persuaded the neighboring tribes of the Rauraci and Tulingi and Latobrigi to depart with them for the same reason, to take advantage of their towns and burnt streets; and they accepted into their own number as allies the Boii, who used to live across the Rhine, and who had crossed into the Norican land and fought with Noriea.

Argh, best wishes for kitty.

Also, someone already said this, but I keep seeing that as "Helvitici" ("Helvitiki"?).
